INTRODUCTION

Hello Ap langositon bloggers,
I know for sure this is AP class will help me out on my goal to get into a good University.
Truth be told, i think this class is kind of boring, but i mean it's good for me. This is the most complicated and most time consumnig class I'll ever take. All these essays is seriously going to challenge me in "expressing" myself and looking deep within myself to write a true to me, good essay. I hope that i can pass the exam because I for one want to stand out from all the rest of the applicants. This college course is basically a preparation for the english language and composition exam. It's not a gaurantee you'll pass just by taking the class, so study harder than recomended. This class is not going to be easy and i will probably want to give up at a point.

I screwed up my 9th AND 10th grade years of my highschool career so this class for me is my turn around point to make up for my past mistakes. I would have not chosen this class at all if i did good in my 9th and 10th grade, but that's not the case. I feel like this class is going to kill me at a point and totally drain out every inch of energy i have, but what i tell myself is that i do great in 11th grade, i get to relax in 12th. Not relax as in party, but not do all this work. The hard aspect of this class is the reading and part of the essay writing. For me, reading is eating brocoli for a kid. I absolutely hate it, but it's so necessary and I am so glad i took this class because even though i hate reading, it makes me read. i don't know if that makes sense to you, but it does to me and that's exactly who it's for.

My persepective on this exam is that it's a privilage, not an annoyance. This exam will only enhance my knowledge even if i don't use it. Some classes aren't for the future use of it, but for the increase in your thinking capasity. I am an optimist and i am a thinker. I love to think and philosphosize on each and everything anyone has to say. I challenge myself and i feel like this class is well suited for me. The truth is, i don't care if i pass the exam or not. Just to be able to take this class is a high privilege and i hope to go my measures of Steve.

The toughest thing is usually admitting that you messed up somehow and that it's your fault.
But now that you know what you did wrong and what you have to do to make up for it, I do think you will get far. You just need to make sure to keep going on track, but I don't think you'll have trouble remembering, seeing as how so many people who care are looking out for you.
This class won't be easy, but at least you're getting some experience in how a college class is like. Now, that's something you can brag about to the kids on the block.

Steve,
I have to agree with Vanessa(second comment) on the point she made of how admitting you messed up is the toughest part of your road to college, but now that you have, it's time for you to stop looking at the past and start looking towards the future. Yes, the next two years will be tough but with perseverance you should be able to make up credits and pass high school. You mentioned how you believed that the class was boring and that you hated reading. You also said that your are an optimistic person. Well I just want to say that I can relate to you. I also do not enjoy reading or writing but I try to make the best of it. Before class starts instead of thinking of all the work we might have to do I try to stay positive and try to get pumped for the class. This has really helped me and I believe it will help you. Mr. Cook, the 12th grade economics teacher, told us just a few days ago that reading is what you make of it and if you believe it will be boring, it will be boring, but if you put in your head that you will enjoy it, you will enjoy it.
Either way, I don't want to keep talking about how to make class easier for anyone. I would like to know more about what you plan to talk about in your blog. I understand it's about Rhetoric in the U.S. but I believe it will be interesting to see how you will take that.

Don't blame yourself for screwing up in ninth grade. Everyone has to screw up in life or else there isn't any learning involved. Like what some people may say, "learn from your mistakes." I don't think it is wise to be blaming yourself and thinking that because of your wrong decisions you are nothing. No, this should motivate you to succeed and this should be the factor that only causes your triumphs. Nevertheless, if you really think that screwing up in ninth grade is goign to significally change your life, that is something that I cannot change. It is really up to you to make something pretty and beautiful rise from the screw up of ninth grade.
Having that said, I think your topic -like what most of the people are commenting- is kind of dull and by reading the part of your post -in which you clearly state that you are optimistic- makes me think how are you going to make this topic interesting.
I am really hoping to see how your topic comes to be and I hope you really make a well decisions and actions for this year and next year.

Steve,
Wow i think you may have one of the most difficult of al the blogs that were given to us. I can totally relate to you because i have as well as you screwed up the past two years and you know i am not lying since we had the same summer classes. But yes as you have said i find this class some sort of way of redeeming myself for the past mistakes i have done, which hopefully i do. Yes you are very right to say that if us as 11th graders do very well this year in AP and are able to pass this class we can sort of relax for the 12 grade year. I actually found it very funny that you say that you consider reading and writing as eating broccoli which you say you detest. I used to actually hate reading and writing as much as i still today hate eating liver which ill never eat unless you give me 100$ :p. Anyways i started to notice that it is necessary for me to be good at both things if i want to become a better writer for major sports magazines. Anyways good job but you may need to explain more what your topic because i really don't know what you are really supposed to do in your blog. Either way nice start to your blog and i am looking forward to reading your blog more often and to know what rhetoric of the US really means

Hello H.L.A.B. (<--- see me),
I honestly can't believe you wrote it was boring, you have the guts, dude. I wonder how Meyer's felt.
Well, anyways, you have to admit, now that we're in our third week, (i think) its not a hard as you thought. Its basically either reading or writing honestly. And from seeing you everyday, i can tell you got it down.
Steve, i think that screwing up the past two years should be enough motivation to keep you from giving up and not caring about your concluding score from the exam. You need this class to move onto college. So, get those thoughts out of your head and get to work.
(i say that because i care)

lol. Why thank you! I thought your introduction was very good. You know that I think your writings are very honest and I think you will get far. Why did you pick Rhetorics of US? You know you could have come up with your own topic right?
Cupcakes filled with chocolate fists of fury? Sounds like a heart attack waiting to happen.

Steve, i think everyone in this class can agree with you when you say that this class is very boring. While reading your post i read that you mest up in both your freshman and sophomore year and i guess it is a good thing that you are taking this class because i am pretty sure that this class will help you. Even though i have no idea what the word means it is a good word or better yet a professional word to start off you introduction.

Steve and co.:

The "this class is boring" stuff stops now. Seriously. You all had a choice to be here, and from what I can tell, you chose wisely.

Beyond that, this class is a study in words and the power they yield. So heed me when I say:

1. To call something boring is practically to make it so (read Gary's longer reply for more on this).
2. Such epithets are counterproductive. Period.

And Dianasaur -- It's Vernon. :p
