Fast Food Of AMERICA

The latest blog I posted up was about the army and how they advertised their strong unity to make those who watch these commercials or posters more appealing. America is one of the most strongest countries and hypnotic countries. Think about it. We buy useless junk that we use for a day and never use it again, and why? Because America can sell you a plate of crap for five hundred dollars and it'll be the biggest hit.

We live in an America that can make us believe anything. When someone of high importance says something of complete irrelevance and we laugh because of what they said. We pay attention even though its off topic becuase this person is in a high position. Those that are famous, rich, and smart come out as endorsers to products because the company believes that when someone of this position endorses this, it'll appeal to everyone of his or her fans. It's puposterous that these tactics work, but it's sad how it does work. I have to admit that I am a victim of these indivduals that can portray such a pointless object to something of greatness. The human mind is very easily hypnotized to the point where we can be overcome my the media to want things that are junk.

Burgers taste delicious, fries are great, ice cream is a must have. Even though these delicacies are so delicious and mouth watering, no one would ever eat them without the proper advertisement used behind them. The strongest advertisements i've seen are endorsers of entertainment. Shakobe, Nascar Racers, models, movie stars. These are all perfect exmaples of the ethical rhetoric. We are definitely pursuaded by these endorsers of these most deliscious, unhealthy, fatifying delicacies of the world.

First, it's nice to see this posted on time :) Second, you have a really developed writing voice, Steve. It's a gift and a strength that can propel you into the future if you choose to let it.

Enough warm and fuzzy.

The title of your blog is "Fast Food..." What's the ratio of text describing this topic to context? How could you unpack the rhetoric more specifically?

Steve,

i really liked the way you express yourself. you think about realty and i must agree with you because we do tend to by things that we ned for the moment and then we put it away or throw it away, that is money thrown to the garbage.

your blog is really good because it it raw and real. there are people who believe what is being said by the media. i also have fallen for the media because before i really didn't like fast food and when saw an advertisement on T.V. for Burger King i went to Burger King and was eating. this is how powerful the media can be. IT HAS TO STOP!!!!

Damn Estef. That was so.....wow.

And you have such great points. America is the land of mindless consumerism. Maybe that's why it's one of the strongest countries. If you can get someone to buy this plate of crap for five hundred dollars, then you can pretty much get them to do whatever you want.

Fast food is bond to have some of the most effectively use rhetoric. McDonalds is such a huge hit because of the ads and commericals and what not. This company manages to plague the thoughts of many people with their flashy advertisement and you gotta admire that. They can hypnotize, as you say, the minds of many and sell their products non-stop.

Bravo.

And Happy Thanksgiving.

Hello Stevie.

I have to compliment your wise choice on this month's blog topic. Fast Food advertising is filled with rhetoric.
They also have it packed with hidden hypnotic strategies. For example, McD's official color is.. Red. Did you know that the color red is also said to strike up hunger in people?

Well anyways, i really enjoyed your blog. You're getting good.

Can you get more in detail next time?

What Up Steve,
Man! even fast food have their own rhetoric. Yes it's true most things we buy are influenced by commercials. Like Kobe fans for example, If they would see Kobe promoting a burger that has so much that can kill you, they don't care. They will follow the influence of Kobe and still buy because their idol promoted it. In a way it is bad, But if things like this did not exist, America wouldn't be the great country that it is today. Yeah some companies should be stripped of this but not all. It's not bad when Pau Gasol promotes the eating of vegetables, or David Beckham promotes people to go out and get a work out. So this shouldn't stop it should grow but in a way that promotes healthiness or cleanness. Either way good job and keep finding great rhetoric in the U.S

Sup Steve,
I think that your blog is well written and well said. You had great examples about people who are in high positions encouraging people to buy a product. These people who are high in position makes people attracted to these products and make them spend money to things not benefit them like u said "junk".

Everyone gets attracted to these advertisements and it could be used it good and bad ways like chente said. But this could be very useful to our next POL the soap. Advertising and showing how good the product really is.

Dear Steve,
After readng your blog and thinking about it it is true becuase many of the things that we have now has been through someway of appealing by people that are well known. These type of appeals are usually when it comes to clothes, food, shoes, products thatare really expensive and many end up buying. I believe that may have fallen and continue to fall due to this the communication of things that we have in the U.S.

Heeeeeey,

you are so right that is so true. United States is avery hypnotic country. I am so mad, i never saw it or picture it like that. Everything you see you want to buy even if you dont have money. Grrrrrrr but what can we do. You should try yo put a solution to tell us how to stop tht conflict. I dont think is right for them to hypnotise us. I think it all just depends on how smart you are just you know what you are buying.

Well that is really helpfull information. I would want to congratulate you for giving me such usefull information.
Sincerely :Hugo

Dear Stevie,
I agree that we are easily hypnotized, especially when it comes to food. Sometimes we wont eat burgers home made or fries because there not “Burger king” or Carl’s Jr.,” etc. Or we criticize the food, and start comparing them to the fast food, and of course the fast food wins the battle. I also agree that when someone in a high position we tend to listen even though the conversation is absurd it is. But when it comes to someone who is a “regular person” we actually start discussing or agree on their opinion, or we don’t listen and were honest to them, but it’s being a hypocrite. I say this because why we discourage others in their thoughts, beliefs, and opinions while we don’t do the same when it comes to someone in high power, or famous.
Sincerely,
Masyeli M.
